Gregory Tarl\u00e9, professor em\u00e9rito de f\u00edsica, liderou a equipe que construiu os sistemas rob\u00f3ticos que controlam os 5.000 &#8220;olhos rob\u00f3ticos&#8221; do DESI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;O caminho do DESI sempre passou pela Universidade de Michigan,&#8221; disse Andrade. &#8220;\u00c9 muito empolgante ajudar a manter essa trajet\u00f3ria.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>O DESI \u00e9 um dos levantamentos mais abrangentes do cosmos j\u00e1 realizados. O instrumento de \u00faltima gera\u00e7\u00e3o pode capturar luz de 5.000 gal\u00e1xias simultaneamente e foi constru\u00eddo e \u00e9 operado com financiamento do Escrit\u00f3rio de Ci\u00eancia do Departamento de Energia dos EUA. O DESI est\u00e1 montado no Telesc\u00f3pio Nicholas U.
