U-M explores the ‘Future of Design’
DATE: 1-5 p.m., Friday, Oct. 9; 9 a.m.-1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 10, 2009
EVENT: Thirty design experts will brainstorm how concepts are evolving during the “Future of Design” conference, hosted by the University of Michigan’s Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning.
From FORM principal Greg Lynn to Princeton architecture dean Stan Allen, the invited discussants are at the forefront of creative thought in architectural, interactive, industrial and interior design.
Each participant will be given 15 minutes to present their views on the future of design. These presentations will be recorded for posting on YouTube, enabling others to remotely experience the thought processes through which innovative ideas are shared.
The presentations are free and open to the public. The segments will be available on YouTube starting Oct. 19. The event is hosted by Taubman College’s dean, Monica Ponce de Leon.
