EVENT: Diplomacy in a New Transatlantic Era: A discussion in celebration of Ambassador Ron Weiser and the launch of the Weiser Diplomacy Center. Free and open to the public.

PLACE: Weill Hall, Annenberg Auditorium, 735 S. State St., Ann Arbor

DETAILS: The conversation will include Stephen Hadley, former national security adviser; Daniel Fried, former assistant secretary of state for European and Eurasian Affairs; and Liz Schrayer, president and CEO of the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition.

They will analyze key challenges facing the United States and its partners in Europe, and discuss how effective diplomacy can advance American values and interests in an era when nationalist and authoritarian currents are strong.

The discussion will also share insights on the implications for students pursuing careers in international affairs.

As part of the launch, the center is bringing in prominent foreign affairs leaders to campus for dialogue with students and the public to strengthen U-M’s role as a national leader in international policy education.

The event will also be livestreamed at fordschool.umich.edu/streaming/hadley-fried.
