Media advisory—President Bollinger’s inauguration Media credentials will be required for those who wish to cover University of Michigan President Lee C. Bollinger‘s inauguration ceremony on Sept. 19. To request credentials, please call News and Information Services at (313) 764-7260 no later than Sept. 17. Credentials can be picked up at NIS, 412 Maynard St., or at Hill Auditorium just prior to the ceremony. The ceremony will begin at 10:30 a.m. in Hill Auditorium. Media should enter through the stage door of Hill nearest Burton Tower. There will be a section of the Auditorium reserved for media which will be equipped with a sound distribution box for radio and television. Reserved parking for media will be provided in the parking structure on Fletcher Street near the corner of Washington. Media will need to show identification in order to park there. Shortly after the ceremony ends, Bollinger will be available briefly for media interviews at the center of Ingalls Mall near the fountain. A reception and celebration for the campus community will take place beginning at noon on Ingalls Mall. There will be many activities throughout the day which will make good photo opportunities. Among them are the 5-K Fun Run beginning at 7:30 a.m. on North Campus in the parking lot near the intersection of Beal Avenue and Glazier Way; the procession of some 300 invited dignitaries beginning at 10:15 a.m. from the Rackham Building through campus to Hill Auditorium; and the outdoor reception from noon-2 p.m. on Ingalls Mall, which will include a number of performances by student groups.
