EVENT: Business executive, best-selling author and Pulitzer Prize winner Sheryl WuDunn will deliver the keynote talk at the University of Michigan’s CEW Women and Economic Security Conference.

WuDunn, the first Asian-American reporter to win a Pulitzer (for international reporting), is co-author of “Half the Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide.” She wrote the No. 1 New York Times best-selling book with her husband Nicholas Kristof.

WuDunn, who worked at the New York Times both as an executive and journalist, currently works with entrepreneurs in new media, media technology and social enterprise at a small investment banking boutique in New York City. She also runs FullSky Capital, which focuses on socially driven investing.

Her talk is part of the 50th anniversary celebration of the U-M Center for the Education of Women, dedicated to encouraging and enhancing the education and careers of adult women through programs and services, advocacy and research.
The three-day conference (May 14-16) will focus on identifying and combating barriers that women living in poverty face as they seek economic security and mobility.
