U-M professor will discuss midterm elections

EVENT: University of Michigan political scientist Michael Traugott will speak on “Elections 2014: A Government Even More Divided?”
The 2014 election is shaping up to be a season of strong partisan viewpoints, similar in many ways to the 2010 election. Traugott will focus on what this portends for the final two years of the Obama Administration and the 2016 presidential campaign.
Traugott is a professor of communication studies and political science and a senior research scientist and director of the U-M Institute for Social Research Center for Political Studies. He studies political communication and campaigns and elections, with a special interest in the use of polls to support political reporting.
He has written or co-written nine books and more than 75 journal articles and essays. He is the past president of the American Association for Public Opinion Research and the World Association for Public Opinion Research.
His talk is free and open to U-M alumni and friends who work in and around the State Capitol in Lansing.
