EVENT: “Celebration in Honor of 100 Years of Barbour Scholars”
The celebration will feature Barbour alumnae and current scholars who will share their experiences traveling across the globe to earn a University of Michigan education.
The Barbour Scholarship is among the oldest and most prestigious awards granted by the U-M, offering funding to female students from Asia and the Middle East since 1917.
In the last 100 years, more than 700 women from more than 25 countries have been appointed as Barbour Scholars. The scholars came to U-M to study science, humanities, arts, social sciences and more. They have gone on to become university presidents, educators, senators, researchers, industry leaders and more.
