ANN ARBOR—Faculty appointments, with tenure, approved by the University of Michigan Regents at their April 15-16 meeting included:

Shirley Neuman, a faculty member at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada, will be dean of the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts, and professor of English and of women’s studies at U-M, effective Aug. 1. (Her nomination to the U-M positions was announced March 16.)

Nancy A. Rigotti, a faculty member at Harvard Medical School, will be associate professor of internal medicine at U-M, effective July 1.
