College of Engineering to launch seminar series.

ANN ARBOR–Noted physicist Klaus Schulten will be the first lecturer in the Dean’s Seminar Series, to be launched by the University of Michigan College of Engineering on May 11 at 3 p.m. The lecture, free and open to the public, will be held in the Johnson Rooms on the third floor of the Robert H. Lurie Engineering Center.

Schulten is a professor of physics, chemistry, and biophysics at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and also directs the Theoretical Biophysics Group at Illinois’ Beckman Institute. He is expected to describe the past triumphs, present challenges, and potential opportunities in computational biology.

A reception will follow Schulten’s speech.

The Dean’s Seminar Series was established by Robert J. Vlasic Dean of Engineering Stephen Director to welcome internationally renowned academicians and researchers to the U-M community to share knowledge, exchange ideas, and stimulate discussion on topics of importance in today’s world.
