Chicago Tribune foreign correspondent Tom Hundley will discuss war reporting
ANN ARBOR—Tom Hundley, Rome correspondent for the
Chicago Tribune, will deliver the 1999 Graham Hovey Lecture
on “Covering Conflict Behind Enemy Lines” at 4:30 p.m. Oct.
22 in Angell Hall, Auditorium D, at the University of
Michigan.
Hundley, who has covered the crisis in the Balkans,
the Persian Gulf War in Iraq and conflicts in Iran, has
been a correspondent for the Tribune since 1988. A former
staff writer at the Detroit Free Press, Hundley studied
Arabic and Middle East security and business issues at the
U-M as a Michigan Journalism Fellow in 1984-85.
The 14th annual lecture honors retired MJF director
Graham Hovey, former foreign correspondent for the
Minneapolis Star-Tribune and New York Times reporter.
