Wootton grad receives internship at U-M News Service.

ANN ARBOR— Jill Siegelbaum, a 1996 T.S. Wootton High
School graduate, has joined the University of Michigan’s
Office of News and Information Services (NIS) as an intern.

Siegelbaum is a senior majoring in comparative
religious studies. She is co-captain and a three-year
member of the women’s epee squad for the U-M fencing team,
which competes against varsity teams from schools including
Ohio State University, Northwestern University, and the Air
Force Academy. She also is training to become a peer tutor
for the U-M Sweetland Writing Center, which helps students
from all disciplines improve their writing skills and
processes.

At NIS, Siegelbaum writes news releases, contributes
articles for the University’s faculty/staff publication,
and interacts with media at the state and national level.

Siegelbaum worked for the City of Rockville Department
of Recreation and Parks as a camp leader at Bits ‘n’ Pieces
for three years. As a student at Wootton High School, she
was active in the drama club and chamber chorus.

She is the daughter of Paul and Laura Siegelbaum of
Rockville, and the granddaughter of Isabel Gordon of
Rochester, N.Y.
