Diane Brown named new information officer
ANN ARBOR—Diane L. Brown has been named information officer for the University of Michigan’s Office of Associate Vice President for Facilities and Operations, which includes the Department of Public Safety and Office of Occupational Safety and Environmental Health.
She will be responsible for media relations and community relations for the office. She began her duties this week.
Brown, who received her M.B.A. degree from the U-M and her undergraduate degree in journalism from the Central Michigan University, has 20 years of public relations and marketing experience with non-profit, profit and educational organizations.
She was assistant sports information director at U-M’s Department of Intercollegiate Athletics in 1982-84. She was with First of America Bank in Ann Arbor in 1984-98, serving as community relations officer/marketing coordinator and state community reinvestment manager, among other positions. She rejoined the U-M this year, at the School of Nursing.
