Advisory: 2000 Automotive New World Congress

The 2000 Automotive News World Congress, featuring nearly three dozen auto industry executives and leaders in finance, marketing, research and e-commerce, will take place Jan. 17-20 at the Marriott Renaissance Center in Detroit.

Exploring the theme “Embracing the Promise of the New Millennium,” the conference will include speakers such as William Clay Ford Jr., GM’s John F. Smith Jr., James Holden of DaimlerChrysler, Nissan’s Carlos Ghosn, Mitsubishi’s Pierre Gagnon, and Richard Dauch of American Axle & Manufacturing.

A fully equipped media center, with phones, fax and copy machines, speaker and company information and speech texts, will be available for reporters. The media center will be located in the Greco Room on Level 4; hours of operation are 3-10:30 p.m. Jan. 17 and 8 a.m.-10:30 p.m. Jan. 18 and 19. In addition, several speakers will be available to media in special sessions scheduled throughout the conference.
