ANN ARBOR—Prof. John W. Halloran will serve as interim chair of the Department of Materials Science and Engineering in the University of Michigan College of Engineering. His administrative appointment, effective July 1, was approved by the U-M Regents at their May 18 meeting.

Halloran is the Alfred Holmes White collegiate Professor Materials Science and Engineering and professor of materials science and engineering.
