The University of Wisconsin heads the ranking list, with 93 alumni, followed by the University of Colorado-Boulder with 74 volunteers, and the University of California-Berkeley, at 70.
Since 1960, the Peace Corps has sent more than 161,000 trained volunteers to 134 countries to help fight hunger, bring clean water to communities, teach children, help start small new businesses, and stop the spread of AIDS. This year’s number of volunteers is the highest level in 26 years, and the Peace Corps would like to boost the figure by 25 percent during this 40th anniversary year.
