ADVISORY: U-M president to attend public events University of Michigan President Mary Sue Coleman will attend a variety of back-to-school and welcome events over the next several weeks. You may wish to preview some of these events and to send reporters and/or photographers. If you plan to attend, please let us know in advance so we can make appropriate arrangements. Student Move-In begins Aug. 28 and the first day of classes is Sept. 3. Call us if you need any additional information. Here is a list of scheduled events: Wednesday, Sept. 4: UMOJA (students of color) Convocation, 6-7:30 p.m., Mendelssohn Theatre. Thursday, Sept. 5: WUOM/WFUM live broadcast with President Coleman, 2-3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 5: Student Mentorship Program kickoff, 7:30 p.m., Power Center. Tuesday, Sept. 10: MSA-hosted reception for all students, 5-6:30 p.m., Michigan League, Vandenberg Room. Wednesday, Sept. 11 Remembrance events: Josh Rosenthal Lecture, noon-1:30 p.m., Michigan League Ballroom; Alumni Center plaque dedication, 3 p.m.; student-organized vigil, 9 p.m., Diag. Thursday, Sept. 12: All-campus welcome reception, 4 p.m., Ingalls Mall. Monday, Sept. 16: President’s Day in Flint. Campus tour with welcome reception. Wednesday, Sept. 18: Admissions lawsuit update, 4-6 p.m., Mendelssohn Theatre. Tuesday, Sept. 24: President’s Day in Dearborn. Afternoon welcome reception with campus community. Tuesday, Oct. 1: All-campus welcome reception, 4 p.m., on the plaza in front of the Media Union on North Campus.
