U-M lecture: Environment influences public health

ANN ARBOR—"White Coat, Green World: Human Health and the Natural Environment," a perspective on the role of the natural environment in human well-being, will be presented by Howard Frumkin on March 13 at the University of Michigan. The 7:30 p.m. lecture will be in Auditorium II at the School of Public Health II on the south side of Washington Heights Drive. The auditorium is on the first floor. The lecture is presented by the Nichols Arboretum of the University of Michigan. Admission is free. An expert in environmental and occupational health, Frumkin is on the faculty of Emory University’s Rollins School of Public Health. Frumkin has special interests in the public health aspects of urban sprawl, the health consequences of global climate change and pediatric environmental health as well as the effects of economic globalization, including international trade agreements, on environmental and occupational health. He also has a special interest in the hazards faced by marginalized workers and communities, including immigrant workers, service workers and minority communities.
