Michigan Business School dean’s speaker series kicks off Oct. 7

EVENT: Ralph Shrader, chairman and CEO of the global strategy and technology consulting firm Booz Allen Hamilton Inc., will lead off the University of Michigan Business School Dean’s Speaker Series with a talk titled “No Excuses, No Regrets: Reflections on Success Across Generations.”

BACKGROUND: Prior to being named chairman and CEO, Shrader served as president of Booz Allen’s Worldwide Technology Business. He also was national director of Advanced Systems Planning for Western Union and a senior member of the technical staff with RCA’s Government Communications System Division.

Shrader has led major assignments for telecommunications companies in the United States, Europe and Latin America and was involved in Booz Allen’s landmark work for AT&T at the time of divestiture. In the public sector, Shrader has led important programs for the U.S. National Communications System and Defense Information Systems Agency, United Nation’s International Telecommunications Union and government agencies in Latin America.

Shrader, an electrical engineer, is past chairman of the board and serves on the executive committee of the 40,000-member Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA). As chairman of AFCEA International, he led efforts to improve opportunities for women and minorities in the communications and electronics fields. Shrader also received the David Sarnoff Award, the AFCEA’s highest honor.
