Top economists to discuss U.S. financial crisis

EVENT: “Upheaval in Financial Markets,” a panel of distinguished alumni from the University of Michigan Department of Economics, will address the ongoing crisis in U.S. financial markets.
Featured panelists include:
? David Berson, senior vice president, chief economist and strategist of PMI Group Inc. and former vice president and chief economist at Fannie Mae, staff economist on the Council of Economic Advisors and economic analyst at the Treasury Department.
? Peter Borish, chairman and CEO of hedge fund Computer Trading Corp. and a former member of the Brady Commission, which studied the stock market decline of 1987.
? Peter Hooper, chief economist at Deutsche Bank Securities and formerly an economist at the Federal Reserve Board for 26 years.
? Greg Pearlman, managing director of Bank of America Securities LLC and former managing director of corporate finance at Morgan Stanley.
