Center for Global Health Symposium and Student Global Health Day
DATE: 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13: Symposium 9:30 a.m.-noon. And Student Global Health day 1:30-3:30 p.m.
EVENT: Strengthening Health Systems to Improve Global Population Health and Student Global Health. The symposium features case studies from India, South Africa and Ghana, where substantial health system reform efforts have taken place over the past decade. Three speakers who have played a key role in these efforts, and who are members of the CGH External Advisory Committee, will present.
A moderator will help anchor the symposium. Speakers include: K. Srinath Reddy, president, Public Health Foundation of India; Marian Jacobs, dean, Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Cape Town, South Africa; and Peter Donkor, provost, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana.
The Student Global Health Day will feature two speakers addressing global health in the 21st century and what it means to go into the global health field. The speakers will be followed by two student poster presentations. Student posters will be featured on display all day.
