University to host transportation technology forum
DATE: 7-9:30 p.m. March 10, 2010.
EVENT: The University of Michigan will host a public transportation technology forum as part of a comprehensive campus planning effort.
The session will include a presentation from students in the College of Engineering and a panel discussion with the following individuals:

? Chuck Fougnies, Clarian Health People Mover
? Mark Fuhrmann, Minneapolis Light Rail
? Hugh Kierig, West Virginia University, Morgantown, Personal Rapid Transit
? Chris Perkins, Unimodal Personal Rapid Transit
? Jim Spakauskas, Bombardier
? Michael York, Cleveland Euclid Corridor
The forum will explore future transportation opportunities and how addressing campus long term needs of a more efficient transportation system to connect Central, Medical and North campuses can also best serve community interests. Possibilities include rail, monorail, dedicated road and/or other technology types.
There will be ample time at the public session for suggestions and questions.
