U-M conference will explore driver safety and mobility
DATE: 8 a.m.-4 p.m. April 7, 2010.
EVENT: The University of Michigan will hold its annual Transportation Research and Education Conference on young driver and older adult safety and mobility issues.
Keynote speakers include: Joseph Grengs, U-M assistant professor of urban planning, who will address transportation access and disparities at 8:45 a.m.; and Sandra Rosenbloom, professor of planning and adjunct professor of civil engineering at the University of Arizona, who will discuss gender differences in transportation at 2:45 p.m.
In addition, two dozen experts from academia and industry will participate on panels throughout the day. Topics include: Emergency Medicine, Trauma and Transportation; Mobility Management and Transitions from Driving to Non-Driving; Commercial Driver Issues; Law Enforcement and Transportation; Medical Conditions and Transportation; and Technology and Transportation.
