EVENT: A talk titled “Escaping poverty through entrepreneurship,” by Arthur Brooks, president of the American Enterprise Institute, best-selling author and social scientist.

The American Enterprise Institute is a public policy think-tank based in Washington, D.C., that focuses on expanding liberty, increasing individual opportunity and strengthening free enterprise. Brooks has served as the institute’s president since 2009.

He has authored two books, “The Road to Freedom: How to Win the Fight for Free Enterprise” (2012) and “The Conservative Heart” (2015), which both earned a spot on the New York Times bestsellers list.

Brooks’ talk will be followed by a discussion with Poverty Solutions director and assistant professor H. Luke Shaefer, and a community question/answer period.
