Career guide explores ocean of opportunity

ANN ARBOR—”Marine Science Careers,” a guide for junior and senior high students interested in marine careers, is available from Michigan Sea Grant. The book also is suitable for college undergraduates, middle school students and educators.

“Marine Science Careers” features question-and-answer profiles of 38 professionals who speak candidly about their training and the positive and negative aspects of their work in the oceans and the Great Lakes.

The guide also includes short descriptions of marine biology, oceanography, ocean engineering and related fields, and a discussion of today’s career outlook. The 40-page guide is illustrated with photographs and includes a list of additional resources. Price is $5; order from Michigan Sea Grant, 2200 Bonisteel Blvd., Ann Arbor, MI 48109-2099.
