ANN ARBOR— The University of Michigan Office of Career Planning and Placement has published an updated and expanded version of ” Job Search and Employment Opportunities: BestBets from the Net,” an online guide to help job seekers navigate employment and job related information on the Internet.
” Best Bets from the Net” leads users directly to job postings, places to submit resumes electronically, and online career information resources available to help plan and execute a successful job search. In addition, co-authors Philip Ray and Bradley Taylor have included an appendix, ” Best Bets for Navigating the Net,” designed to provide Internet novices with an on-ramp to the information superhighway. Ray and Taylor are graduate students in the U-M School of Information and Library Studies.
Syndicated careers columnist Joyce Lain Kennedy called ” Best Bets” ” an excellent contribution to job search literature. ” The 17-page guide is available from the Clearinghouse for Subject-Oriented Internet Resource Guides in both ASCII text and HTML versions at the following addresses: http://asa.ugl.lib.umich.edu/chdocs/employment/
