College of Engineering bestows Service Awards

Five individuals and a team received Excellence in Staff Service Awards from the University of Michigan College of Engineering.
The individuals honored included:
Shekinah Errington, senior graphic artist, Department of Mechanical Engineering;
Kathy Friedrichs, manager, Off-Campus Education Programs, Center for Professional Development;
Claudia Hill, administrator, National Science Foundation Industry-University Cooperative Research Center for Dimensional Measurement and Control in Manufacturing and the S. M. Wu Manufacturing Research Center;
Linda Jaarda, research secretary, Solid-State Electronics Laboratory;
Linda Owens, administrative manager, Center for Ultrafast Optical Science.
The following staff members from the Department of Materials Science and Engineering were recognized as a team:
Laraba Kendig, instrument analyst; Keith McIntyre, facilities engineer: Zacharias Platsis, engineering technician; Ying Qi, engineer; and Kevin Worth, computer systems specialist.
This was the eighth year that the College of Engineering has honored staff members with service awards. A committee made up of the previous years’ recipients makes the award selections based on recommendations from staff, faculty, and students. Each recipient is given a framed memento and a stipend.
