DATES: 4 p.m., Feb. 5, 2008.

EVENT: Warren M. Washington, a senior scientist at the National Center for Atmospheric Research, will give a talk about computer simulations of 20th and 21st century climate change. The event is free and open to the public.

As part of the Martin Luther King Day symposium, Washington will present and compare recent climate experiences with climate model simulations. Such simulations will become increasingly important as the world evaluates and possibly shifts its energy strategies. The title of this talk is “Computer Simulations of 20th and 21st Century Climate Change: The Low Carbon Emission Policy Option.”

Washington is an internationally recognized expert in atmospheric science and climate research specializing in computer modeling of the Earth’s climate.

PLACE: Charles R. Walgreen, Jr. Drama Center, Stamps Auditorium, 1226 Murfin Ave. on North Campus.

SPONSORS: The U-M College of Engineering and the School of Natural Resources and Environment.
