EVENT: “Portals and Platforms: Cultures of Entertainment in Digital India” takes a look at the contemporary entertainment media in India—web series, YouTube and Netflix.

The one-day conference brings together leading scholars and practitioners who will explore how digital technologies have revolutionized screen entertainment across India.

It also includes screening of “Mard Ko Dard Nahin Hota (The Man Who Feels No Pain)” an award-winning film, followed by a Q&A with Ankur Khanna, producer at RSVP Films, and Paromita Vohra, a documentary filmmaker.

The conference and screening are free and open to the public.

PLACE: 10th Floor, Weiser Hall (9 a.m.-3 p.m.) and Michigan Theater (3:30-6:30 p.m.)
