Engineering College staff members earn service excellence awards

ANN ARBOR—The University of Michigan College of Engineering recognized five of its staff members for their outstanding service and commitment to the College during the Excellence in Staff Service Awards ceremony at Chrysler Center. Dean Stephen W. Director presented the honorees with $1,500 stipends and framed pictures of the College’s Maya Lin Wave Field engraved with citations of appreciation.

The following staff members were recognized: Michael Africa, Computer Systems Consultant, Chemical Engineering Department; Brian Johnson, Engineer in Research, Chemical Engineering Department; Pam Linderman, Undergraduate Student Advisor, Industrial and Operations Engineering Department; Derrick Scott, Program Director, Minority Engineering Program Office; and Beth Stalnaker, Student Services Associate, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Department.

This is the 10th year that the College of Engineering has honored staff members with service awards. A committee made up of the previous year’s recipients makes the award selections based on recommendations from faculty, staff and students.
