Epidemiologist Larry Brilliant discusses pandemic preparedness and response

EVENT: “Ahead of the Curve featuring Dr. Larry Brilliant”

The University of Michigan School of Public Health will host a virtual conversation with Larry Brilliant, a prominent physician and epidemiologist and CEO of Pandefense Advisory, an interdisciplinary network engaged in pandemic response. The discussion will cover topics ranging from Brilliant’s work helping to eradicate smallpox to how we can better prepare for and respond to the next pandemic.

Brilliant is a senior counselor at the Skoll Foundation and a medical analyst for CNN. He is founder of the Seva Foundation, a global eye care nonprofit that works to preserve and restore sight, and has held leadership positions at Google and the World Health Organization. He is a graduate of and was a former faculty member at the U-M School of Public Health.

This 60-minute conversation will be hosted by F. DuBois Bowman, dean of the U-M School of Public Health.
