ANN ARBOR—”American Presidents: Life Portraits,” a presidential portrait exhibit sponsored by C-Span, the White House Historical Association, and the Gerald R. Ford Foundation, is being hosted by the Gerald R. Ford Library, located on the University of Michigan’s North Campus [map].
The display will continue through
“The exhibition of Chas Fagan’s Presidential Portraits is an educators’ delight,” says Ford Library Director Dennis Daellenbach. “Oil portraits, images, and historical biographical sketches, along with special learning activities, bring our nation’s presidents to life for students of all ages.”
Accompanying the portraits are biographical sketches of all 42 presidents (from Washington to Clinton) along with photographs and prints that capture each president’s time in the White House.
The Ford Library invites students and the general public to participate in this innovative multimedia experience, the only complete collection of American presidential oil portraits by one artist. Additional information about the exhibit and related learning activities can be found at http://www.americanpresidents.org.
The exhibit was commissioned by C-Span to complement its Peabody Award-winning television series, “American Presidents: Life Portraits.”
