EVENT: Economist Rebecca Blank, chancellor of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, will deliver the Citi Foundation Policy Talks @ the Ford School keynote of the “Poverty, Policy, and People: 25 Years of Research and Training at the University of Michigan.”

Blank, dean of U-M’s Ford School of Public Policy from 1999 to 2007, investigates the problem of rising economic inequality in the United States and the various options for addressing it.

After leaving U-M, Blank worked at the Brookings Institution for a year and served in top positions at the U.S. Department of Commerce from 2009 to 2013. She has served as a top economic adviser in the Clinton and Obama administrations.

The Ford School conference will explore the contributions to scholarship and professional development of U-M’s Research and Training Program on Poverty and Public Policy. The event, free and open to the public, is one of the highlights of the Ford School’s year-long centennial celebration.
