EVENT: Cancer Insights: Molecules to Medicine. Fourth annual Life Sciences Institute symposium. Free and open to the public.

Top cancer researchers from across the country will discuss their latest findings. Charles Sherr of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital will kick off the meeting at 9 a.m. with the Mary Sue and Kenneth Coleman Life Sciences Lecture: ” Oncogene Surveillance by Ink4a-Arf”

Other speakers and topics include: “Mouse Models for the Discovery of Human Cancer Susceptibility Genes,” with Allan Balmain of the University of California; “Emerging Genetics of T-ALL – the Role of Notch” with Thomas Look of Harvard; “Genomic Approaches to Cancer Gene Discovery” with Barbara Weber of GlaxoSmithKline; “Genomic Information and Cancer” with Todd Golub of MIT and Harvard; “Translating Protein Interactions into Targeted Therapies” with Renata Pasqualini of the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center; and ” Kinase Inhibitors in Cancer Treatment” with Charles Sawyers of UCLA.
