Grand Opening ceremony: U-M new dining center and renovated residence hall
DATE: 2- 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, 2008.
EVENT: President Mary Sue Coleman and other representatives of the University of Michigan will officially open the new Hill Dining Center and the completely renewed Mosher-Jordan Residence Hall. Tours of the facilities and refreshments will be offered to students and guests. Remarks and ribbon-cutting will begin at 2:30 p.m.
Mosher-Jordan, which opened in 1930, has been completely upgraded, yet the traditional architectural style and details have been preserved. Connected to the back of the residence hall, the Hill Dining Center features a dynamic, contemporary design to showcase the marketplace concept in campus dining. The facilities were opened to students during move-in week prior to the start of the 2008 fall term.
The two projects are major accomplishments in the University’s Residential Life Initiatives to revitalize and expand the student living experience on campus.
PLACE: Hill Dining Center, located behind Mosher-Jordan Hall, 200 Observatory St., U-M Central Campus. Map: http://www.housing.umich.edu/residencehalls/index.php
