EVENT: “Presidential Election Forum: Health Care Reform—What’s at Stake?”

Former presidential economic advisers from both sides of the political aisle and a Pulitzer-Prize winning journalist will discuss health care reform issues in the current presidential campaign in a free, public event

Featured speakers include:

  • David Leonhardt, Washington bureau chief for the New York Times and 2011 Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist for his coverage of the federal budget deficit and health care reform.
  • Helen Levy, research associate professor at the School of Public Health, Ford School of Public Policy and the Institute of Social Research at the University of Michigan, and senior health economist on the President’s Council of Economic Advisers, 2010-11.
  • Katherine Baicker, professor of health economics at the Harvard School of Public Health and member of the President’s Council of Economic Advisers, where she played a leading role in the development of health policy.
  • Jonathan Gruber, professor of economics at MIT, key architect of Massachusetts’ health reform effort in 2003-06 and consultant to the Obama administration in crafting the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act in 2009-10.
