High school counselors schooled in financial aid

ANN ARBOR—The University of Michigan’s Office of Financial Aid and Office of Undergraduate Admissions recently hosted their annual fall workshop for southeastern Michigan high school counselors. Sponsored by the State Department of Education and the Michigan Student Financial Aid Association, the workshops provided counselors with a state and federal update on financial aid changes.

Pamela Fowler, director of the Office of Financial Aid at U-M, provided a federal update; Bobbie Bates from the Department of Education in Lansing described revisions on the state level; and Theodore Spencer, director of undergraduate admissions at U-M, spoke with the group about admissions issues at the University.
