ANN ARBOR—The 2001 University of Michigan Homecoming celebration, Oct. 8-13, marks the 105th anniversary of Homecoming. On the field, U-M takes on the Purdue Boilermakers.
This year, with a full slate of activities planned on the Diag, students and alumni can celebrate for an entire week. Days will be themed, and include an Athlete Day, where students will play various games run by athletes, and have the opportunity to win gift certificates and other prizes.
Performance Day will feature four University dance groups; Game Day participants can do the “Adrenaline Rush” obstacle course challenge as well as the bouncy jousting arena.
Free raffles continue throughout the week. Students will also have the opportunity to enter a drawing for a special Homecoming 2001 prize package.
This year marks the third year that the Student Alumni Council is in charge of the celebrations, which began in 1897.
