International Institute presents terrorism and globalization discussion Tuesday
International Institute terrorism and globalization panel Tuesday
ANN ARBOR—To help better understand the recent terrorist attacks on America, the University of Michigan International Institute is presenting a panel discussion, “Terrorism and Globalization: International Perspectives.” The presentation, which will be held at Hill Auditorium, will begin at 8 p.m. Tuesday (Sept. 18). U-M President Lee Bollinger will give opening remarks. Michael D. Kennedy, Vice Provost for International Affairs and Director of the International Institute, will moderate. The event is free and open to the public.

Panel speakers include Near Eastern studies Prof. Michael Bonner, director, Center for Middle Eastern and North African Studies; theatre and drama Prof. Glenda Dickerson, director, Center for World Performance Studies; Prof. Robert Dolan, dean, School of Business Administration; Islamic studies Prof. Alexander Knysh, chair, Near Eastern Studies; political science and business administration Prof. Kenneth Lieberthal, former member, National Security Council; business administration Prof. Linda Y. C. Lim, associate director, International Institute; Javed Nazir, Michigan Journalism Fellow, former editor, Frontier Post (Pakistan); and political science Prof. Ashutosh Varshney, director, Center for South and Southeast Asian Studies.
