Labor Studies Center union leadership conference Jan. 16-17
ANN ARBOR—The University of Michigan’s Labor Studies Center will hold its Winter Leadership Institute for labor union members Jan. 16-17 at the Ypsilanti Marriott.
The conference will explore union roles in joint labor-management processes, unions in work-place change, and union strategies in global competition, among other topics.
Featured speakers include: Ernest Lofton of the UAW International Ford Department; Bob Baugh of the AFL-CIO Human Resources Development Institute; Harley Shaiken of the University of California-Berkeley; Maureen Sheahan of the UAW Region 1-A Labor-Management Council; Greg Huszczo of Eastern Michigan University; Bob Bowen of UAW Local 849; Steve Babson of Wayne State University; and Elise Bryant and Danny Hoffman of the U-M’s Labor Studies Center.
The cost of the conference is $200 and the registration deadline is Jan. 2.
