Library schedules second annual foreign language book sale

ANN ARBOR—The University of Michigan Library will hold its second annual foreign language book sale Friday (Oct. 30) from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Shapiro Undergraduate Library atrium. Books in a variety of languages will be on sale at $1 for hard-covers and 50 cents for paperbacks; a few will be specially priced.

“We have everything from Armenian to Uzbek,” says Diana Slaughter, sale organizer. “I estimate we will have more than 500 titles in German and an equal number in French; lots of Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Romanian, Greek, Latin, Arabic, Persian, Yiddish, and Hebrew; various Indic languages, Turkish, Russian and other Slavic languages; and Armenian.

“There will also be a very small number of Chinese, Japanese and Korean titles. We are still gathering material, so this list is not complete.”
