DATE: 10-11:15 a.m. May 2, 2009. The graduate procession into the stadium begins at 9 a.m.

EVENT: The University of Michigan spring commencement ceremony at Michigan Stadium, when approximately 4,000 students will receive degrees. Google co-founder and U-M alumnus Larry Page will deliver the commencement address and receive an honorary Doctor of Engineering Degree.

Umbrellas are not allowed in the stadium.

PARKING: Media may park in reserved lot SC1 off Kipke Drive immediately north of Crisler Arena and east of the stadium near the tunnel entrance. Parking permits will be distributed at the entrance to the parking lot beginning at 8:30 a.m. Bring media identification.

Parking passes can also be picked up in advance at the U-M News Service, 412 Maynard St., Ann Arbor.

TRAFFIC: Construction on the Stadium Boulevard bridge has resulted in temporary lane closures that could make travel difficult. The following alternative routes are suggested: If driving on I-94, use Ann Arbor-Saline Road (exit 175), rather than State Street. From campus, use Ann Arbor-Saline Road (exit from campus, take an alternative street to Main Street, such as Hill) and continue south on Main Street toward the stadium. MEDIA CREDENTIALS: Credentials will be available at the media check-in table at the tunnel entrance on the east side of the stadium. Bring media identification.

FOR BROADCAST MEDIA: Camera platforms and microphone-level audio mult-boxes will be located about 40 feet from the stage. TV crews should enter the stadium through the tunnel on the east (Crisler Arena) side. Cameras should be placed on the platform by 9:30 a.m.
