EVENT: 32nd annual Michigan Growth Capital Symposium

PLACE: Marriott Resort at Eagle Crest, 1275 S. Huron St., Ypsilanti

DETAILS: Kelly Williams, managing director at Credit Suisse, will kick off the conference with a keynote address at noon May 21. She will discuss how Michigan compares nationally for venture capital, what some other venture hotspots are doing, and trending themes in the private equity and venture capital industry.

Williams heads up the Customized Fund Investment Group, which manages more than $625 million of capital dedicated to investing in Michigan.

The symposium brings together early stage and emerging growth companies seeking funding and high-quality investors from around the country to discuss top issues in venture capital and institutional investment. More than 400 entrepreneurs, researchers, investment professionals and business executives are expected to attend.

This year’s program includes five panel discussions, as well as a showcase of 36 promising early-to-later-stage Midwest, high-growth companies seeking institutional investment within the next year.
