Neubacher Award seeks nominations
ANN ARBOR—The University of Michigan Council for Disability Concerns is soliciting nominations for the 12th annual James Neubacher Award.
A nominee must be a U-M faculty, staff, student, alumna or alumnus and must have made significant contributions in one or more of the following areas:
•Removing barriers to full participation in programs and services by people with disabilities;
•Promoting acceptance and awareness of people with disabilities in all aspects of community life;
•Advocating for the civil rights of people with disabilities in order to increase their participation in the life of their communities and nations.
Special consideration will be given to people whose contributions have been above and beyond normal job requirements or whose achievements are not likely to be recognized by other organizations. An award nominee need not be a person with a disability.
