New age of innovation: U-M’s Prahalad and Krishnan share ideas

EVENT: Global management thought leaders C.K. Prahalad and M.S. Krishnan will discuss the principles of their recent book “The New Age of Innovation: Driving Co-Created Value Through Global Networks.”

The revolutionary business ideas of Prahalad and Krishnan, professors at the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business, are helping organizations around the world reshape the competitive landscape. Prahalad is the Paul and Ruth McCracken Distinguished University Professor of Strategy and Krishnan is professor and chair of business information technology and a Michael R. and Mary Kay Hallman Fellow.

In this one-day session, they will address how business executives can transform business processes around customer experiences, build an ongoing “innovation” engine, change the source of competitive advantage, redesign and repurpose customer interfaces, and generate more profitable, value-driven customer interactions.

Prahalad will speak on “Understanding the New Age of Innovation” at 10:15 a.m. and Krishnan will address the “New Capital of Transformation” at 11:15 a.m., following 10 a.m. opening remarks by Ross School Dean Robert Dolan and Melanie Barnett, chief executive of the Ross School’s Executive Education.

An interactive case study discussion on “How Innovation is Changing” will take place at 1-3 p.m.
