Panel to address state’s higher education access, economic growth

EVENT: In 2004, Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm charged the Lieutenant Governor’s Commission on Higher Education and Economic Growth with identifying strategies to improve postsecondary attainment and completion in Michigan. To mark the five-year anniversary of the Cherry Commission, leaders of the education and business communities in Michigan will participate in a panel to address the past, present and future of higher education and economic growth in Michigan.

The panelists are:

  • The Honorable John Cherry, Lt. Gov. of Michigan.
  • Mary Sue Coleman, University of Michigan president.
  • Michael Hansen, president, Michigan Community College Association.
  • Mark Murray, president, Meijer Inc.

The event is free and open to the public.
