Police seek aggravated assault suspect
ANN ARBOR—A case of aggravated assault took place early this morning (April 23) in the University of Michigan’s Neuroscience Building, 1103 E. Huron.
The victim, a female staff member, was in a hallway at about 6:15 a.m. when the suspect grabbed her from behind, using his left arm to wrap around her midsection, according to Capt. James Smiley of the U-M Department of Public Safety (DPS).
“The suspect used an edged weapon. The victim struggled with the suspect and was able to escape and seek refuge in an office. The victim received minor injuries.” She was treated at the U-M Medical Center and released.
The suspect is described as “a white male, approximately 30 years of age, about 6′ tall, medium build, with blonde hair, mustache and reddish complexion. He was last seen wearing a gray sweatshirt and dark pants.”
