Police seek suspect in stabbing
ANN ARBOR—A 35-year-old woman was stabbed in a robbery on the University of Michigan campus early this morning (Dec. 7), according to the U-M Department of Public Safety (DPS).
The woman, a U-M staff member and a resident of Ann Arbor, was walking near the Lydia Mendelssohn Theatre on Fletcher when she was accosted from behind by a man who took her purse, pushed her to the ground and stabbed her in the leg.
The woman was transported to the U-M Emergency Room, where she is in good condition.
U-M police are looking for a suspect described as a male, approximately 6 feet tall, wearing a brown coat with a black hood, and dark trousers. Police are unsure whether this incident is related to an armed robbery reported Dec. 2 at the parking lot at Palmer Drive.
