Provost to brief media about the Ann Arbor campus 2008-2009 operating budget
DATE: 2 p.m.-2:45 p.m. June 19, 2008.
EVENT: Provost Teresa Sullivan will brief members of the media and answer questions about the 2008-2009 General Fund budget that she and President Mary Sue Coleman will recommend to the University of Michigan Board of Regents later Thursday afternoon.
The General Fund budget supports the primary missions of the University?instruction, research and public service. The three main sources for General Fund revenues are the state appropriation, tuition and indirect cost recovery from research.
Information from the briefing is embargoed until the Board of Regents votes on the budget at its monthly meeting, which begins at 3 p.m. in the Fleming Administration Building. At that time, the regents also will consider the 2008-2009 operating budgets and tuition rates for the Flint and Dearborn campuses and the operating budget for the U-M Hospitals and Health Centers.
