Public invited to open house at Michigan Stadium Sept. 10

ANN ARBOR—The gates of Michigan Stadium, with its expanded seating capacity, new video scoreboards, new sound system and other renovations, will be thrown open to University of Michigan students, faculty and staff and the general public for an open house 1:30-5:30 p.m. Thursday (Sept. 10). The new scoreboards and sound system will be in action throughout the afternoon with highlights of the previous weekend’s Notre Dame game and last year’s championship season. Athletic Department staff will be on hand to conduct tours of the renovated facility at the corner of West Stadium Boulevard and South Main Street. And at 2 p.m., the official total seating capacity of the expanded bowl will be announced for the first time over the sound system.

“We enthusiastically invite all of our true blue fans to come out and see the many improvements we’ve made both inside and outside the stadium,” said Tom Cecchini, associate athletic director for marketing communications. “We’ll be proud to show it off and we hope the hours will allow fans of all ages to attend, ” he added.
