Regents approve tenure appointments

ANN ARBOR—Faculty appointments, with tenure, approved by the University of Michigan Regents at their July 13-14 meeting included:

Kim S. Cameron, dean at Case Western Reserve University’s Weatherhead School of Management, will be professor of organizational behavior and human resource management at the U-M, effective Sept. 1.

Joanne F. Carlisle, a faculty member at Northwestern University, will be professor of education and research scientist at the Institute for Human Adjustment at the U-M, effective Sept. 1.

George Hoffmann, a faculty member at Boston University, will be associate professor of French at the U-M, effective Sept. 1.

Augustin Ferdinand Charles Holl, a faculty member at the University California, San Diego, will be professor of anthropology and of Afroamerican and African studies at the U-M, effective Sept. 1.

Patricia M. King, a faculty member at Bowling Green State University, will be professor of education at the U-M, effective Sept. 1.

Marilyn S. Lantz, a faculty member at the Indiana University School of Dentistry, will be professor of dentistry and associate dean for academic affairs at the School of Dentistry at the U-M, effective July 1.

Deidre Shauna Lynch, a faculty member at the State University of New York at Buffalo, will be associate professor of English at the U-M, effective Sept. 1.

Reginald McKnight, a faculty member at the University of Maryland in College Park, will be professor of English at the U-M, effective Sept. 1.

Jeffrey E. Mirel, a faculty member at Emory University, will be professor of education at the U-M, effective Sept. 1.

Susan B. Neuman, a faculty member at Temple University, will be professor of education at the U-M, effective July 1.

Martha E. Pollack, a faculty member at the University of Pittsburgh, will be professor of electrical engineering and computer science at the U-M, effective Sept. 1.

Christopher S. Ruf, a faculty member at Pennsylvania State University, will be associate professor of atmospheric, oceanic and space sciences at the U-M, effective Sept. 1.

Timothy Schallert, a faculty member at the University of Texas at Austin, will be professor of psychology at the U-M, effective Sept. 1.

Lawrence M. Seiford, program director for operations research and production systems at the National Science Foundation, will be professor of industrial and operations engineering and chair of the Department of Industrial and Operations Engineering at the U-M, effective Sept. 1.

Kannan Soundararajan, holder of a fellowship from the American Institute of Mathematics which he has spent at the Institute for Advanced Studies in Princeton, will be associate professor of mathematics at the U-M, effective Sept. 1.

Jason Stanley, a faculty member at Cornell University, will be associate professor of philosophy at the U-M, effective Sept. 1.

C. Addison Stone, a faculty member at Northwestern University, will be professor of education at the U-M, effective Sept. 1.

Jean Wineman, a faculty member at the Georgia Institute of Technology, will be professor of architecture and associate dean for research at the U-M’s A. Alfred Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning, effective Sept. 1.
